About BibleProtege
BibleProtege is an academic Bible study and research platform for theology students, pastors, and scholars. Its tagline—“Serious Bible Study for Serious Students of Scripture”—reflects its focus on in-depth, scholarly engagement with the Bible rather than casual reading. The platform combines several capabilities in one place: multi-language scripture access (including original languages and multiple translations), academic research tools (search, filtering, cross-referencing), structured commentary for serious study, and a space for scholars to publish and share theological research and commentary. AI-powered tools are used to surface patterns, insights, and cross-references in Scripture while taking context into account. The product is positioned as bringing together the strengths of JSTOR, Logos, Obsidian, and a seminary library—a single environment for research, writing, and publishing. The design uses a clean, search-first layout with an academic feel (e.g. Literata and Space Grotesk, deep indigo and muted gold) to support efficient study and writing. BibleProtege includes a public landing page, an app with Dashboard, Scripture, Research, and Resources sections, and a Scripture reader with original-language and Strong’s data. It is built with Next.js and deployed on Netlify, with documentation and a setup manual in the repository for developers and future maintainers.
